Policy Advocacy

The World Trade Center Wisconsin acts as a platform for companies to express their positions on international policy issues, as well as provide forums for these companies to discuss common issues with key government officials. Working to keep open lines of communication with elected leaders, the WTC Wisconsin has as one of its chief missions the role of educating these leaders on the concerns of its membership.

Having regular contact with both local and federal government officials, as well as members of the international diplomatic community and occasionally foreign government officials, the WTCW finds itself in a unique position to have the ability to communicate messages being expressed by its membership to these officials. Similarly, WTC offices around the globe maintain such contacts in their region, allowing members from one region to leverage such contacts in another.

Representatives of the WTCW are in communication on a near-daily basis with foreign consuls general, honorary consuls, and trade officers. These foreign representatives are often speakers at WTCW programs and are guests at WTCW functions. Moreover, the World Trade Center Wisconsin hosts visiting dignitaries such as Ministers of Parliament (MP’s) and Governors several times per year. Contact with such prominent individuals may otherwise be impractical or impossible, but is made possible for WTCW members.
